#WomenCanBe

Many brands say they stand behind women. But few prove that they really do.
Standard Bank has a purpose. To empower women. Rather than simply talking it, they have made a public commitment to make a change from within and reach gender parity in their leadership positions. They stand behind women. And as an organisation, they stand behind and recognise their women.

For Women’s Day, we decided to dedicate our (Standard Bank’s) Social Media profiles to the women within the organisation who have played a part in our story. We wanted to show them that we respect them, are humbled by them, uphold them, acknowledge, recognise, and celebrate them.

Throughout the day, we updated our Social Media timeline and cover pictures to different photos of women within the organisation and championed them. But it wasn’t just about their face, it was about the person. We celebrated who they are, and that began with their name. By using it in conjunction with our IT CAN BE brand line, we demonstrated the power and potential inside every woman.

Ultimately, we set out to create a tribute to the women of Standard Bank. We showed them how we are inspired by their bravery and how their strength motivates us to do more. It’s a commitment we have made, and will continue to keep working towards.

We encouraged our audience to celebrate the women in their lives too. By using our Facebook Frame, they could upload an image and dedicate their profile to them as well.

This piece of work was done in partnership with Clockwork Media and on behalf of Wunderman Thompson.
